Scott has spent most of his career figuring out how small businesses can compete with companies that have more money, more staff, and more resources.

He first learned this while building and operating a small dog training and pet care business. With a limited budget, he had to learn how to find the right customers, convert them, keep them happy, and build systems that allowed a very small team to compete with much larger operations.

In 2022, Scott joined Mountchor Technologies as Executive Assistant to the CEO and later Chief of Staff. Working directly with the leadership of a 150 person company gave him an entirely different look at how businesses operate, how decisions get made, and what starts to break as organizations grow.

After moving to St. Petersburg and going through multiple hurricanes, flooding, and a few years that forced a lot of plans to change, Scott helped his wife build Playful Paths Speech Therapy. What started as a very small practice grew into a multi market operation with a growing team. Along the way, Scott worked on nearly every part of the business, including pricing, marketing, advertising, lead generation, sales, hiring, expansion, technology, automation, and the systems needed to keep everything running as the company grew.

Small Business Innovations came out of realizing that none of those lessons existed in isolation. Over the years Scott had learned how to generate customers with very little money, how to build systems around a small team, how larger organizations operate, how to use technology and automation to eliminate unnecessary work, and most importantly, how to figure things out when there was no obvious playbook.

SBI is an attempt to bring that knowledge to other small business owners. Not by telling them how their business should work, but by getting into the numbers, finding where the opportunities are being missed, and helping them actually do something about it.
