Lauren graduated from the University of South Florida in 2012 with a Bachelor’s in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Gerontology and American Sign Language. After spending some time working in the public school sector Lauren, in 2016, decided to head back to school to get her Master’s in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Central Florida.

It was in her second stint in the school system that she discovered her passion for working as a Speech-Language Pathologist with the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing.

The Pandemic was a turning point for Lauren. After graduating, and with the shifting landscape, she decided to partner with a colleague and pivot into in-home health services where she specialized in early intervention as part the Bay Area Early Steps organization. Lauren found her niche working with families and their children, using a parent coaching model in the child’s natural setting (home) to improve their communication and increase that bond with their caregivers. While working at Learn2Speak Lauren has been given the opportunity to manage colleagues and supervise interns, as well as gaining insight into how a small business is run in this field.

Working with Florida’s Early Steps program has given her valuable insight into how government bureaucracies function, and where sub contractors can create systems that help their organizations integrate within that bureaucracy. It can often be a delicate balance of providing the care that her patients need and adhering to the guidelines of state mandated programs. It is in this setting that she began to implement systems of standardization, creating predictable and consistent outcomes for her clients and patients.

Lauren is new to the entrepreneurial world. Like many self employed people, she has come to see the distinction between owning a business and “owning a job”. Having spent her working career in the Private Healthcare Industry, she understands that there are many others just like herself who would like to own and operate a business that works and provides their vision of impact, not simply work within the larger healthcare system. Her goal is to be a conduit for these professionals who want to run their own business, and to do it successfully- not have it run them and their lives.

Having a husband and two small children herself, Lauren knows the limited and invaluable passing of time watching children growing up. Her goal is to provide effective business management systems for like-minded, highly skilled professionals who are also entrepreneurs, so that they may get their lives back and spend it how they want- with their families, with those they love, or just doing what want to do with their free time.
